But, in a moving and open interview, she describes how, as a teenager, she felt she was a misfit - she had few friends, she struggled with her weight and at school she used to steal other people's homework. She joined a youth theatre and it was, she says, the saving of her. She found like-minded people and a sense that she had something to offer.

Victoria is very careful about how much of her own life she puts into her work. She doesn't mind saying she cuts her pubic hair with nail-scissors, but rarely discusses her children on the stage.

Victoria reveals her favourite tracks, book and luxury.

James Naughtie, Jenny Eclair, David Starkey and Simon Armitage

Clive's Thought For Today is focused on broadcaster James Naughtie, who's currently presenting BBC Radio 4's landmark series 'The New Elizabethans'. He talks to Clive about the 60 individuals whose actions during the reign of Elizabeth II have had a significant impact and given the age its character. 'The New Elizabethans' broadcasts Monday to Friday at 12.45.

Clive has a sweet tooth for comedian, actress and author, Jenny Éclair. Grumpy Old Woman Jenny was the first female solo winner of the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award and is about to publish her third novel. 'Life, Death and Vanilla Slices' which she describes as a darkly funny family drama, based upon an unfortunate traffic accident and a box of cakes.

Arthur Smith takes a stroll with Professor of Poetry Simon Armitage, whose new book 'Walking Home' is a stride-by-stride account of his 256 mile journey across the Pennine Way. Making his extraordinary, yet ordinary journey as a 'modern troubadour' and without a penny in his pocket, Simon paid his way with poetry.

Clive battles the beaches with historian David Starkey, whose new Channel 4 series 'The Two Churchills' is a double biography of Winston Churchill and first Duke of Marlborough, John Churchill. David tells Clive about the two remarkable men who he thinks shaped the destiny of Europe. 'The Two Churchills' begins at 8pm on Sunday 22nd July.

Doro's three children break free of ideals from their unconventional upbringing in a left-wing commune. Marina Lewycka's novel is a witty and astute take on modern values.

When Doro and Marcus brought up their children they were committed members of a left-wing commune in Doncaster where radical politics, lentils and domestic chaos were the order of the day. Their children, Serge, Clara and Oolie Anna, who has Down's Syndrome, aspire to a different way of life.

Serge is pretending to do a PhD in maths at Cambridge, but is in fact earning ninety grand a year in an investment bank, a betrayal of all that Doro and Marcus hold dear. Clara has more of a social conscience than her brother and has turned to teaching, while Oolie Anna is desperate to leave home and live in her own flat. When secrets are uncovered and truths revealed the consequences are unexpected.

Series 1

Episode 1

Award-winning character comedian and doyen of sketch comedy Humphrey Ker presents the pick of the best live sketch groups currently performing on the UK comedy circuit in this brand new showcase - with character, improv, broken and musical sketch comedy.

Humphrey Ker is himself an established sketch performer, writer, actor and comedian who won the Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh festival in 2011. For five years he was part of the much-loved sketch trio The Penny Dreadfuls, with whom he wrote and performed in a string of Edinburgh festival smashes, two series on BBC7 and two plays for Radio 4.

The sketch groups featured in episode one of Sketchorama are:

Delete the Banjax: Writer/performers Caroline May-Jones, Daniel Cook, Gareth Cooper and Samuel Champion. They've enjoyed three critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, picking up a ThreeWeeks Editors Award at Ed Fringe 2010 and, with their charmingly chaotic performance style, have become one of the most talked about comedy acts on the circuit.

Lady Garden: The all-female group are Beattie Edmondson, Rose Johnson, Eleanor Thom and Camille Ucan. Since their Edinburgh debut in 2008, their fast-paced shows filled with fantastic character creations have received widespread praise from audiences and critics alike.

Idiots of Ants: Andrew Spiers, Elliott Tiney, Benjamin Wilson and James Wrighton. Since forming in 2007, they have gone on to sell-out four Edinburgh festivals and a run in London's prestigious West End. They have attracted a staggeringly large internet following, with their 'Facebook in real life' and 'Wii Breakfast' sketches achieving multi-million hits.
